I was always told we can’t grow bearded iris in Houston. Well, you can! Aaron’s Dream is terrific for our area. I planted it in the fall of 2022. It went through a freeze just fine. Bloomed its head off in spring 2023, then breezed it’s way through two months 99-100 degree weather when most everything else died. It’s back this spring with three flower spikes. This plant is just about indestructible. Buy it!
This is the first year I have had this Iris in my garden, it did very well, nice large blooms, pleasant fragrance. I think I need to move it, maybe not enough sunlight, the stems were not straight, probably looking for more light. Recommended. We will see if it re-blooms :-)
